A grade 1 artist teacher and manager, I greatly enjoy working with students across all levels through writing and delivering projects which engage, enthuse and inspire the production of high level and individual art and design outcomes. Experienced and knowledgeable about curriculum design and professional practice, I have co–authored student and tutor books for BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas in Art and Design, written extra curricular courses and designed and written higher education courses. I have recently completed a p/t MA in Arts Education with Oxford Brookes University.
I have continued to develop my own practice as a part time collaborator with The Caseroom Press, at the University of Lincoln, and have made use of this experience within my teaching to inform the production of artists’ books and mixed media artwork for sale and exhibition.
I enjoy working collaboratively within a team to develop and realise projects across departments and institutions and am proactive and solutions focussed to ensure deadlines are met and successful outcomes are achieved at a high level. I enjoy finding solutions and positive outcomes which enrich and extend the levels of teaching and learning through additional activities, links with galleries, external organisations and higher education institutions.
This blog documents my exploration and experimentation with media, techniques and processes though the examination of every day objects to inform the taught curriculum and the development of my own arts practice.
